When “A Scandal in Belgravia” aired, I think it’s safe to say that the thought of a riding crop conjured up images of the sex-charged reimagination of Irene Adler in the minds of the Sherlock fandom.
But lest we forget, Sherlock Holmes was no stranger around a crop himself. In fact, in the original Arthur Conan Doyle stories, it was described as his favorite weapon by John Watson. Having recently purchased my own riding crop, I wanted to pay homage to the classic stories with my modern BBC Sherlock costume.
